Villa Agreste and Bianco Ostuni DOC Take center stage on “È sempre mezzogiorno”

Last Wednesday, March 27th, Ostuni took center stage on Rai Uno in a segment entirely dedicated to the iconic white wine of our territory, thanks to a pairing created by sommelier Andrea Amadei during the midday show hosted by Antonella Clerici.

Amadei presented the “Lumen in Aria” white wine from the Ostuni winery Villa Agreste, paired with a Genovese pasqualina made by chef Ivano Ricchebono: “the light of the Apulian sun” in the glass provided an opportunity to talk about the White City, its olive oil heritage, as well as its winemaking tradition, highlighting how the DOC had practically disappeared before being recovered in recent years. This is a labor of rediscovering traditional grape varieties, resulting in a wine composed of Impigno and Francavidda, two extremely rare and therefore precious grapes. The first is mineral and vertical, while the second is as suave as a tropical fruit extract. Together, they create a wine very different from the whites we are accustomed to in Puglia, capable of supporting even structured gastronomic preparations, such as the pasqualina presented in the episode.

As Amadei continued his story, images were shown that depicted the territory, starting with a breathtaking view of Ostuni, moving on to the vineyards of Villa Agreste, and finally reaching the sea.

This was an important moment for the promotion of the territory, which can be viewed in full on Raiplay https://www.raiplay.it/video/2024/03/Torta-pasqualina—e-sempre-mezzogiorno—27032024-09853034-9a41-4e8b-9ca6-cbbc13663d56.html.
