Between Ostuni and the Adriatic Sea lies the countryside of Conca d’Oro. Villa Agreste is the reference point for this territory, marked by the presence of hundreds of ancient olive trees, true plant monuments that alone are worth the trip and from which spectacular oil is produced.
The owner, Enzo Iaia, an accountant and passionate horse lover (you can even go horseback riding with him), has done things the right way without skimping on anything, creating a coherent, cultural, and agricultural project where the complex simplicity of nature is the protagonist. Apart from the hospitality areas, which are carefully furnished down to the smallest detail, complete with a swimming pool and gym, the central core is the winery where an old, centuries-old oil mill has been restored. This mill has a didactic value because it allows us to understand how oil was produced for millennia before the introduction of new steel technologies. There is also a beautiful and evocative event hall and a tasting room for wines, the latest project that has taken shape in collaboration with the oenologist Simone Santoro.
